Winter is our quiet season. This gives us time to catch up on new products, industry trends and continuing education. This year the team at SI headed to the 2016 Irrigation Association Education Conference and Show in Las Vegas. These are always fun events to attend.
Mike took a refresher course in Irrigation Systems Maintenance and Renovation sponsored by Hunter. Even after being in the industry for 30 years there are still things to learn.
Kichler, our landscape lighting supplier invited us to the headquarters in Cleveland to attend a contractor training event and factory tour. One of the highlights of the factory tour was the quality control rain room. Being a company in the Northwest we appreciated the painstaking efforts made to ensure a weatherproof fixture that will last for decades. It was reassuring to know that each product line is rigorously tested including 2 separate testings of 20 plus days straight rainfall ensuring these fixtures can easily handle our wettest winters. We’re also thankful for the time Kichler took to train us on the new and innovative LED technologies available today. We’re really excited about their new Gen 3 integrated product line coming on the market this spring. PLUS- we got to go to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Cleveland Rocks!
